PALAZZO GHERARDI
Il Palazzo
The flat is located in Palazzo Gherardi (15th century) in the heart of Florence, only 150 meters from Santa Croce's Church and 400 meters from Santa Maria del Fiore, the main church in Florence. The flat has four bedrooms (one suite with 19th century frescoes on the ceiling), and a pleasant living room where you can rest on the sofa and make some meal afther a long walking day in city centre. The bathrooms are equipped with showers.
The Reinassance elegance and history of the building create a unique framework for those who want to revive the most splendid pages of Florence history. The inviting corridor ornamented by authentic florentine tiles leads the guest to lightful aparment.
Surroundings
Santa Croce's neighborhood is well known for the homonymous church that was projected by the great Master Arnolfo di Cambio. The areas nearby, although very touristic, mantain a strong florentine identity, in fact there are many diners, pubs and restaurants where to eat or have a drink during the day which are well frequetede by locals and foreigners.
For those who love to discover the local city culture we suggest to not miss : historical footbal (calcio storico piazza santa croce in june and february), Sant'Ambrogio's market, typical tuscan sandwiches and the antique diners.
Atmosphere
The living room is enriched with the evocative hexagonal tiles according to Florence tradition, together with the frescos on the ceiling.
A comfortable area is available for the guests where they can chill out on the sofa, at the table and enjoy the smart tv or use the kitchen.
